Good source of zinc, potassium, magnesium and vitamin B3

Common Name:  Lucuma
Botanical Name:  Pouteria lucuma
Habitat:  Tropical and warm temperate South America

General:   The tree is fairly drought resistant, and grows to approximately 18 meters.  The fruit provides a rich and sweet taste.  

Nutritional Information:  Lucuma is rich in beta carotene, niacin, iron, zinc, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and vitamin B3.  Despite its sweetness, it is low on the glycemic index.
