Habitat:  Native to Chile

General:  Grown in Chile, Argentina and elsewhere, the Maqui tree grows to approximately 5 m high.  Maqui berries are small and dark in color.  

Nutritional Information:  Maqui is a very nutritious fruit, often called a "superfruit."   It is very high in vitamin C, calcium, potassium and iron.  It has extremely high cellular protecting properties due to anthocyanins, delphinidin, malvidin, petunidin, cumarins, triterpenes, flavonoids and cyanidin.  It is thought this unique combination of compounds can support cardiovascular health, joint and bone integrity, and healthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
